Chinese PM interacts with heads of key international economic organizations

Beijing, December 10 (IANS). Chinese Premier Li Keqiang held a 1+10 dialogue at the State Guest House in Beijing with the heads of major international economic organizations, including the New Development Bank, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the World Trade Organization, and the United Nations on ways to bring together development commonalities to enhance global common prosperity. But there was an in-depth exchange of views.

Li Qiang said that the current global economic growth is weak and economic globalization and multilateralism are facing obstacles and challenges, which is increasing uncertainties. Various parties should focus on development, create a development environment of peace and stability, upgrade the level of global governance, safeguard global business chains and supply chains, and create a new engine of global growth.

Li Qiang stressed that China is a strong guardian of economic globalization and multilateralism. The driving mechanism of the stable growth of the Chinese economy is that there is additional scope for sustainable development and positive external influence. The basic logic of the Chinese economy moving forward has not changed.

Li Qiang said China is willing to safeguard the basic parameters of international relations and the multilateral trade mechanism with various parties, and supports various international organizations playing an important role in global governance.

The heads of international economic organizations praised China’s huge development achievements and expressed firm confidence in China’s economic transformation and future. All parties are willing to strengthen cooperation with China to safeguard multilateralism and globalization so as to enhance equitable growth and sustainable development.
