Bikaner : Bikaner Cancer patients are always in stress and trouble due to their disease, but on Wednesday, their stress increased further due to non-payment of Chiranjeevi Yojana card. He kept wandering to make the card, but due to technical glitch in the software he had to face problems. When the hearing was not held, cancer patients and their families created a ruckus in front of the superintendent’s room of PBM Hospital and demanded making of Chiranjeevi card. Police had to be called to convince people.
Apart from Rajasthan, patients from other states also come to Acharya Tulsi Cancer Research Center for treatment. The system of free treatment under Chiranjeevi Yojana is applicable only for the patients of Rajasthan. There was a sudden technical glitch in the software of Chiranjeevi Yojana at around 5 pm on Tuesday evening. Cards have stopped being made. By that time, about 25 patients were deprived of getting their cards made, but when there was no improvement even till around 1 pm on the second day on Wednesday, the patience of the patients and their families ran out. They demonstrated first at the Cancer Center and then in front of the Superintendent’s room.
Cards are made for 90 to 100 patients every day.
Acharya Tulsi Cancer Research Center makes 90 to 100 cards for cancer victims of Rajasthan every day. For this, patients come in the morning and stand in line in front of Chiranjeevi counter, who remain waiting for the card till evening. The card is made according to the amount spent on the treatment of the patient. If the card is not made, there is a delay in starting the treatment of the patient. For the treatment of cancer patients, free treatment is provided under Chiranjeevi Yojana. Depending on the illness of the patients, treatment is done under a package of minimum Rs 1800 and maximum Rs 49 thousand.
