Korba : A chit fund company director’s health suddenly deteriorated in Korba Jail, following which he was taken to the hospital where he died on Thursday. It is said that he was lodged in Jagdalpur Jail in a fraud case and was shifted to Korba Jail just four days ago.
According to the information, Abeer Kundu (57), an undertrial prisoner originally from Kolkata, had been ill for a long time. Even after being brought to Korba, his treatment was going on. It is being told that he was being treated for BP and heart.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, his health suddenly deteriorated at 5 pm in the jail. He was immediately rushed to the District Medical College, where doctors declared him dead during examination. The district administration and senior officials have been informed about the incident. At present, further action is going on.
Abeer Kundu was the director of a chit fund company. There were many allegations of fraud against him. The case was going on in Jagdalpur, after the end of the case where he was shifted to Korba Jail. A case was registered against the deceased in Balco police station in 2015.
