Chittorgarh : Chittorgarh Begun Sub District Hospital, On Wednesday, an infant born a day earlier died in the hospital after vaccination. Angry family members accused the doctor of negligence and intimidation by the nurse. The family members demanded police action. After getting information about the matter, the police also reached the hospital.
Family members created ruckus
Police said, Vishnu Devi, wife of Bablu Regar, a pregnant woman resident of Rawada village, was admitted to the sub-district hospital for delivery. The woman admitted in the infant ward gave birth to a child on Tuesday night, 19 November. The newborn baby was given BCG vaccine in the hospital on Wednesday morning. After some time his health deteriorated. The family got checked by gynecologist Dr. Dhirendra Nagar. Meanwhile the child died. When the family members created a ruckus, BCMO Dr. Kamlesh Sharma reached the hospital on information. Begun police also reached the hospital.
Demand for action against doctor and nurse
Bablu Regar, father of the newborn, said that the delivery was safe at night. The newborn and his mother were completely healthy. There was negligence in the treatment of Dr. Dhirendra Nagar and the vaccination was not done properly by Nurse Basanti Dhakad. The nurse also threatened. Father Bablu demanded police action against the doctor and nurse. The father has given a report in the police station. Gynecologist Dr. Dhirendra Nagar of the sub-district hospital said – the child was completely healthy at the time of vaccination. After that he was made to sleep in the ward and fed his mother’s milk. The milk entered the child’s respiratory tract, resulting in his death due to respiratory arrest. There has been no negligence in treatment or vaccination. No one threatened. Apart from this baby, 7 other children were also vaccinated, all of whom are healthy. Head Constable Labhchand of Begun police station said – investigation was started on the report of family members. The family members have refused for the postmortem of the baby.
