Chittorgarh News Desk: On one hand, falling enrollment remains a challenge in the education department. Meanwhile, vacant posts of teachers have also spoiled the mathematics of education in many government schools. After three days, half-yearly examinations are to be held through state level pattern. Even after this, teachers have not been appointed in government schools. Students are having to suffer the consequences of this. According to the data of Shala Darpan as of December 1, 2024, 3 lakh 71 thousand 61 posts are sanctioned in the schools and offices of the Secondary Education Department. In comparison, 2 lakh 45 thousand 908 are employed. Whereas 1 lakh 25 thousand 153 posts are vacant. Due to the upgradation of secondary schools of the state to higher secondary schools, there is already a shortage of teachers in government schools. There is a rule to fill 50 percent posts of senior teachers and lecturers through direct recruitment and 50 percent posts through promotion. Due to their not being promoted on time, students of board exams are also not able to get subject teachers on time. He has been promoted from senior teacher to assistant for two sessions. But, the list has not been released yet.

Adjustment of surplus teachers becomes a matter

The process of adjustment of teachers has become a thorn in the neck of the department. Guidelines regarding adjustment have been issued thrice in these twenty days. Still, department officials are working hard to finalize the lists. But, due to the daily issuance of new guidelines to reach the final decision, the officials are also facing problems. However, in the guidelines issued on November 14, Education Director Ashish Modi had given instructions to post the adjustment of surplus teachers on December 6.
