Churu News Desk: While the Rabi sowing season starts with the departure of monsoon and the harvest of Kharif crop, this time the sowing of Rabi crop could not pick up pace in Churu district while waiting for the weather to be favourable. Due to which the district lagged behind in sowing the Rabi crop till now but now once again the cold weather has brought new hope. The weather has become favorable this week, so farmers have intensified the sowing of Rabi crops. Therefore, it is expected that Rabi crop will be sown extensively in the region.

According to agricultural scientists, after the departure of monsoon in September, sowing of Rabi crop starts from October and till after Diwali i.e. by the first fortnight of November, the sowing work is almost completed. This time, the sowing work of Rabi crop started late anyway and due to rising temperature in between, the sowing work did not speed up and the farmers kept waiting for favorable conditions. According to farmers, so far most sowing of gram, Taramira and mustard has been done in Rajgarh and Taranagar. Considering the moisture in the ground due to fog and the falling temperature, there is a possibility of widespread sowing of Rabi crop in these two tehsils including the last tehsils of the district. While the farmers are busy in sowing work.

Crop sowing work continues in the district

Sowing of wheat, barley, isabbol, fenugreek, cumin etc. in Rabi crops is going on in the irrigated areas and well agriculture irrigated areas of the district.
