Karauli : A case of drowning of two girls has come to light in Karauli district of Rajasthan. The incident took place in a pond near a hill in Gerai village of Mamachari police station area. Due to Sunday being a holiday, two girls Sapna (11 years) and Reena (12 years) who had gone to graze goats on a hill near the village died. It is being told that due to Sunday being a holiday, both the girls had gone to graze goats on a hill near the village. While bathing, the water level increased due to rain water in the pond. Due to which both of them drowned. Other girls present with them informed about the incident in the village. The villagers who reached the spot took both the girls out, but by then they had died. The family performed the last rites without conducting a post-mortem.
Both died due to drowning in the pond
Villagers said that five girls of the village had gone to graze their goats near the hill. Out of which three were taking care of the goats. The remaining two Sapna and Reena had gone to take bath in the pond nearby. Due to the rain in the last one week, the water in the pond has increased. The girls did not know about the deep water. And while bathing, they went into the deep water and could not handle themselves, due to which both of them died by drowning. At the same time, when the other girls present with them did not see them bathing for a long time, they got suspicious, after which they looked in the pond and both were lying dead. They came to know about this about 15 minutes after both of them drowned. After this incident, the frightened rest of the girls reached the village and informed their family members and villagers about this incident. Reaching the spot, the family members and villagers took out the bodies of both the girls from the pond. At the same time, the family members cremated both of them without conducting post-mortem.
All the friends had gone with a plan
According to the information received, apart from the deceased girls, three other girls had also gone to graze goats. These included Komal, Shimla, and Marjina. Since Sunday was a holiday, all the friends had made a plan to go. But in the meantime, two of their friends went to take a bath in the pond and within a few minutes the news of their drowning came. There is silence in the village after the death of two girls due to drowning.
