CM Bhajan Lal announced the country’s biggest scheme for farmers, 608 power plants will be set up to provide 24-hour electricity to the farmers

Jaipur : A new era of entrepreneurship has begun in the energy sector of the state through the PM Kusum Yojana. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of development works worth more than 10 thousand crore rupees in the Chief Minister’s Employment Festival organized in Birla Auditorium on Tuesday. These include development works of more than 7,167 crore rupees of the Energy Department. Of these, works worth 1863 crores are in the transmission sector and the rest are of Discoms.

608 power plants will be installed, farmers will get electricity during the day

In the program, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of 608 solar plants simultaneously under the Pradhan Mantri Kusum Component-C scheme. An investment of Rs 5,254 crore will be made through these plants and 1501 MW of electricity will be produced. Additional Chief Secretary Energy Alok said that through the scheme, about 2 thousand new entrepreneurs will be able to join solar energy production and in the coming time, every village and hamlet in the state will be illuminated by this spark of entrepreneurship. He said that in the revised budget, a resolution was expressed to provide electricity to farmers during the day for irrigation by the year 2027. These decentralized solar plants will prove to be a milestone in the direction of achieving this resolution. These include 118 solar plants of 266 MW in Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam area, 103 of 221 MW in Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam area and 387 solar plants of 1014 MW in Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam area.

Discoms will get minimum transmission loss power

He said that the minimum transmission loss of power from these solar power plants will help the power distribution corporations to improve their financial condition. The scheme provides a maximum subsidy of 30 percent of the cost of the solar plant by the Government of India, which is giving impetus to feeder level solarization. Grid connected solar power plants are being installed near the sub-stations of Discoms to meet the electricity demand of agricultural consumers.

Kusum Yojana will be implemented quickly in the state

It is noteworthy that the implementation of Kusum Yojana has gained momentum due to the quick decisions of the state government. So far, work orders for a total of 4 thousand 524 MW plants have been given in the state, out of which work orders for 4 thousand 385 MW plants have been issued by the current state government in just a short span of 9 months. 3 lakh 26 thousand agricultural consumers will be benefited by these.

Inauguration and foundation stone laying of GSS

In this ceremony, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of 2 substations of 33/11 kV, 14 of 132 kV and 11 of 220 kV GSS and inaugurated 19 substations of 33/11 kV, 8 of 132 kV GSS and new Assistant Engineer Offices in Jhalrapatan and Chowmahala (Jhalawar).

Joint venture between NTPC Green Energy and RVUNL

In the program, an MoU was signed between NTPC Green Energy Ltd. and Rajasthan Vidyut Utpadan Nigam for the establishment of a joint venture company. The MoU was signed on behalf of NTPC Green by CEO Shri Rajiv Gupta and on behalf of the corporation by CMD Shri Devendra Shringi. The joint venture company will speed up the establishment of 25 thousand MW renewable energy projects in the state. An MoU was signed on March 10 this year for its establishment. Through which an investment of about 1 lakh crore rupees will be made in the state.

NTPC Renewable’s 160 MW solar project inaugurated in Jaisalmer

In the program, NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd.’s 160 MW solar power project was also inaugurated in Bhaisada village of Jaisalmer. It is worth mentioning that a power sale agreement was signed between Rajasthan Discoms and Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). The state will get about 44 crore units of electricity per year from this project at the rate of Rs 2.8 paise per unit. Apart from this, by including the already established 570 MW project, this capacity will now be 730 MW. The state will get electricity from these projects at an easy and cheap rate of Rs 2.8 paise to Rs 2.30 paise per unit. This rate is much lower than the average rate of Rs 4.76 paise per unit currently being purchased from the Energy Exchange.
