Jaipur : Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma told the police officers in the review meeting of the Home Department at the Chief Minister’s Office on Thursday that your alertness and vigilance play an important role in maintaining law and order. CM Bhajan Lal said that the criminals should be so afraid of the police that they either give up crime or leave the state. Ensure maintenance of law and order by making best use of police intelligence and informer system to prevent anti-social elements intent on spreading anarchy and unrest in the state.
Keeping the rule of law high is the priority of the state government.
Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma directed that the police should work with full vigilance and promptness to maintain law and order in the state. He said that maintaining the rule of law is the priority of the state government and it is the responsibility of the police to ensure this. He encouraged the police system to reduce crimes against women and Scheduled Castes and Tribes. At the same time, instructions were given to deal strictly with the criminals involved in cyber crime and illegal drug trade.
Significant reduction in women, SC-ST crimes
CM Bhajanlal said that due to the alertness and vigilance of the police department, the graph of crimes in the state has dropped rapidly as compared to last year. At the state level, total crimes have decreased by 7.3 percent in the state. Besides, a significant reduction of 8.8 percent in the cases of atrocities against women and 13.96 percent in cases of atrocities against Scheduled Castes and Tribes has also been recorded.
Bharatpur Police praised for stopping cyber crime
CM Bhajanlal said that the police is continuously working to deal with cyber crime and cyber police stations have also been formed. He praised the work being done to prevent cyber crime in Bharatpur. He said that the police department should continuously monitor cyber crime. Also, the police department should be reviewed every month.
Innovations should be encouraged – CM Bhajanlal
CM Bhajanlal said that there are about 90 thousand CLG members and 31 thousand 441 village guards in the state. Through community policing, a supportive role is being played in crime control, awareness in the society and maintaining law and order. He said that innovations should be encouraged and those who are helping the police in preventing crime should be honored and rewarded. Also, strict action should be taken against criminals and anti-social elements.
Narcotics department should take action by fixing responsibility
CM Bhajan Lal said that drugs are extremely harmful for the young generation from social and health point of view. Addiction destroys the entire family. The Narcotics Department should fix responsibility and take action against drugs. Our aim is to save the youth from the tendency of drug abuse.
Mobile phone incidents should not be repeated in jail
Taking cognizance of mobile phone related incidents in jails, CM Bhajan Lal gave strict instructions to ensure that they do not recur in future. He said that if criminals are found using mobile phones in the jail premises, responsibility will be fixed on the concerned jail personnel and strict action will be taken against them.
SOG’s action is being praised across the country.
CM Bhajanlal, while praising the research being done by SOG in the paper leak cases, said that the action of SOG is being appreciated in the entire country. The state government acted by adopting a policy of zero tolerance in these cases. Having a strong police department increases the credibility of the state in the country. He said that Rajasthan Police is doing excellent work in crime control.
CM Bhajanlal reviewed many topics in the meeting
In the meeting, CM Bhajan Lal mentioned establishment of women help desk in police stations, women police station in every district, establishment of new police posts, upgradation of police post and police station, establishment of cyber help desk, anti gangster task force, internet connectivity in police stations, CCTV. Reviewed various topics including monitoring of cameras. In the meeting, senior police officers reviewed the budgetary announcements of the Police Department, Anti-Corruption Bureau, State Forensic Science Laboratory, Prison Department, Prosecution, Home Defense Department and gave a presentation about the future action plan.
