The by-elections are being held at a time when BJP lost 11 seats in Rajasthan in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Currently, out of the 7 seats for which by-elections are to be held, only one seat is held by BJP. The remaining 4 seats are held by Congress, one each by BAP and RLP. In such a situation, winning the by-elections on these seats is a question of prestige for BJP. After the announcement of tickets on 6 out of 7 seats, the rebellious attitude of the leaders in BJP came to the fore.
