what is written in the letter
I have received your letter no. 118 dated 28-072024 regarding getting the Dalit student Yash Nayak murder case registered in Kotwali Police Station, Nagaur investigated by the CBI. I am sending it to the Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department for appropriate action.
Yash Nair was murdered on January 19
On 19 January 2024, near the government school of Sant Baldev Ram Das Colony in Nagaur, Dalit student Yash was murdered by cutting his neck with an axe. After that, he was buried in a pile of cow dung. From where his body was recovered. In this case, an accused Rasool Mohammad alias Bablu Ghosi was arrested, but the matter did not calm down. The family and the people of Nayak Samaj accused the police of irregularities and said that the police slept for 14 days and the accused murderer was roaming around without any worry.
Even after the father’s plea, the police did not show promptness
After filing a report of the student’s disappearance, Pukhraj Nayak, father of the deceased student Yash, kept investigating at his own level to find his son. During this time, Pukhraj Nayak kept requesting the police officers to find his son Yash every day. But the police did not show promptness in the matter, investigating officer Bhanwarlal did not take immediate action. When the family submitted a memorandum to the Superintendent of Police, Nagaur, in which the names of some persons were given. On that basis, the police arrested Rasool Mohammad alias Bablu Ghosi and during interrogation, Bablu Ghosi spilled the whole story and the student’s body was taken out from the cow dung heap on the information given by Rasool. In such a situation, it is natural to question the police in this case. While the question is that if the police had shown promptness after writing the report, could the student Yash have been saved alive. These questions raise questions on the police action. This is the reason why a CBI inquiry is being demanded in this case.
