CM Bhajanlal Sharma’s problems increased, after this decision of the court, ‘Gopalgarh riot case’ came into discussion again.

Jaipur : Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma is an accused in the riot case that took place in Gopalgarh, Bharatpur in 2011. He has been on bail for the last 11 years. Recently, when he went on a foreign tour, the issue of going out of the country without taking permission from the court was in the news. Now an application has been filed in the court on behalf of CM Bhajan Lal that he should be given permanent attendance exemption. The court rejected this application of the Chief Minister. Judge Anamika Saharan of ADG-4 court rejected the CM’s application saying that there is no such circumstance that you cannot appear in the court permanently.

This argument given in CM’s application was not accepted by the court
In the application presented by the Chief Minister, the court was urged that the petitioner is the Chief Minister of the state. Being the head of the government, one has to go out of Jaipur often. Sometimes one has to go out of the state and sometimes even on a foreign tour. In such a situation, the petition should be accepted and permanent attendance exemption should be given. On this the court said that the accused is out on bail. The case is currently at the stage of evidence prosecution. The accused was granted bail on the condition that he would remain present in the court as and when required. The court said that at present there is no such situation that the accused could not appear in the court. If you are unable to appear in court on any given day, your lawyer can seek exemption from appearance. There is no such situation as permanent attendance waiver.

Application forms of former minister and other accused also rejected
Along with CM Bhajan Lal, former minister Zahida Khan and former MLA Anita Gurjar are also accused in the Gopalgarh riot case. An application was also filed in the court on behalf of both of them that the condition of taking permission and giving information before going abroad should be removed. The application of these two was opposed by the CBI lawyer. CBI lawyer said that by doing this there is a possibility of the accused absconding. After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the court also rejected the applications of former minister Zahida Khan and former MLA Anita Gurjar.
