Poonch, November 21 (IANS). Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday visited Poonch along with his cabinet ministers and took stock of the development work there.
The Chief Minister chaired a meeting with Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Commissioner Secretaries and officials of all departments to review the status of development works in the district.
He directed officials of all departments to resolve public problems and complete development works on time. After the meeting, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah met around 30 delegations from the district and listened to their problems and accepted the memorandum.
Talking to the media, he said that after the elections, an effort was made to assess the ground reality, discussions were held with the officials and instructions have been given to remove whatever shortcomings there are related to the development works. The development of Jammu-Kashmir and Poonch district is the priority of the government.
The BJP leads six DDCs in the Jammu region, including Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Doda and Reasi districts, while the National Conference is in power in three DDCs – Rajouri, Ramban and Kishtwar districts. An independent woman member leads the Poonch DDC.
Pre-Budget meetings of the Union Territory government with various departments to finalize budgetary proposals for FY 2025-26 and revised estimates for 2024-25 will begin from November 27.
According to the schedule released by the Finance Department, the government will hold discussions with 36 administrative departments during the pre-budget meetings and will complete the process on December 20.
Ahead of the meetings, the Finance Department has directed departments to submit complete details of the Establishment Budget and Fiscal Resources and Budget Management (FRBM) besides submitting Action Taken Reports (ATR) on Budget announcements.
