Jaipur : After the completion of Deepotsav festival, now the feeling of pink winter has started being felt in the plains of the state. Last night, the minimum temperature was less than 20 degrees Celsius in 18 districts of the state. Due to drop in night temperature in many districts including Jaipur, the weather has become cold. Sikar, Alwar, Karauli, Sangaria districts were the coldest last night with the mercury falling by two to three degrees. The Meteorological Department has also expressed the possibility of further drop in night temperature in the coming days and the effect of light fog will be seen in the north-eastern areas.
Last night, the minimum temperature in Sikar district dropped by two-three degrees Celsius. Fatehpur town of the district was the coldest with a temperature of 12.7 degrees. The night temperature in Sikar was 13.2 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees less than yesterday. The night temperature was recorded in Sangaria 14.6, Alwar 15.8, Pilani 16, Karauli 15.9, Churu 15, Sriganganagar 17.1, Jalore 16.6, Mount Abu 14.4, Anta Baran 16.5, Sirohi 13.1 and Jodhpur 19 degrees Celsius. For the first time in the season in the capital Jaipur, the mercury was recorded below 20 degrees last night. The minimum temperature of the city dropped by 01 degree to 19.8 degree Celsius. The minimum temperature in Kota was 19.5 degrees. On the other hand, the weather is still dry at night in the western plains of the state. The maximum and minimum temperature in Phalodi last night was 25.2 degrees Celsius. Whereas in Barmer 21.3, Jaisalmer 21.8 and Bikaner the mercury remained at 21.5 degrees Celsius at night.
According to the Meteorological Department, at present there are less chances of western disturbance being active in the state, but due to slow easterly winds, the night temperature is likely to drop further by one or two degrees. Due to which the intensity of pink cold is likely to increase at night. At the same time, due to the effect of fog prevailing in North India, a layer of light fog is expected to be visible in the north-eastern parts of the state in the morning.
