Cold increases in Delhi, minimum temperature can reach 10 degree Celsius

New Delhi, November 22 (IANS). The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted light fog in the national capital on Friday. IMD officials said that the maximum temperature is likely to be 27 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be 10 degrees Celsius.

Cold is increasing in Delhi NCR. The temperature also continues to fall. The coldest night of this season was recorded on Thursday with 10.2 degrees Celsius.

According to the India Meteorological Department, the temperature on Wednesday night was recorded at 11.2 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature on Tuesday night was 12.3 degrees Celsius, which was the second and third lowest temperature of this season so far.

According to the data, during this period the temperature had fallen to 10.6 degrees Celsius in 2023 and 11.5 degrees Celsius in 2022. Wrapped in fog and troubled by cold wind, the maximum temperature in the city was 27 degrees Celsius, which is 0.8 degrees below normal. According to the Meteorological Department, the humidity level during the day remained between 80 to 64 percent.

Delhi has become India’s most polluted city, with an average PM 2.5 level of 243.3 micrograms per cubic meter and a week-on-week pollution increase of 19.5 percent.

According to the air quality analysis report of ‘Respire Living Sciences’, Delhi is at the bottom at 281st position in the list of cities in terms of air quality. ‘Respire Living Sciences’ analyzed PM 2.5 levels in 281 cities from November 3 to 16.

The main pollutant was PM 2.5. These are microscopic particles with a diameter of 2.5 micrometers or less. This is roughly equal to the width of a human hair.

According to the Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi, there has been a slight drop in the minimum temperature in Delhi/NCR during the last 24 hours.

The bulletin said that the maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi ranged between 24 to 27 degrees Celsius and 8 to 12 degrees Celsius respectively. The maximum temperature remained close to normal and the minimum temperature remained 1 to 2 degrees Celsius below normal at most places in the region.

The bulletin further said that there were mainly light fog/haze conditions during the day on Wednesday with winds blowing from north-west direction at a speed of 6 to 10 km per hour and calm during the night.

According to IMD, there was light fog at Safdarjung Airport on the morning of 21 November. Safdarjung airport recorded a minimum visibility of 600 meters from 7 am to 9 am, which then improved to 700 meters at 9:30 am. In the afternoon, winds were blowing mainly from the south-west direction with a speed of less than 8 km per hour.
