Due to cold winds, the day temperature also dropped by 2 degrees Celsius on Sunday. There was a strong storm in rural areas on Sunday. Due to which farmers have again faced problems. Cumin and Isabgol crops were damaged due to the storm on Sunday. Due to the dust storm, cumin and isabgol crops in many rural areas were completely buried under sand. Agricultural meteorologist Atul Galav said – Due to the changed weather, the effect of cold increased in the city. At the same time, cumin and isabgol crops have been damaged in rural areas. Due to the storm that hit the district on Sunday, about 30 percent of the crop has been damaged. Now the effect of winter will intensify, which is beneficial for the crops. But if the wind blows like this then there is every possibility of damage to the crop.
Temperature reached 10.4 degrees
There is a feeling of winter these days in Jaisalmer district. The temperature has reached 10.4 degrees. People are getting relief when the sun shines during the day, although the temperature remains up to 25 degrees even during the day. According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of winter will intensify in the coming days and the temperature will fall. Along with this, there is also a possibility of cold winds blowing.
Cold winds caused damage to crops
Cumin crop was sown by the farmers in the district. But now a blanket of sand has covered the cumin and isabgol crops. Due to which the crop has been completely spoiled. Due to the strong winds during the day, about 30 percent of the crops of the farmers have been damaged. If the weather continues like this now, the entire Rabi crop will get spoiled. Apart from the weather, farmers are facing problems due to derailment of electricity and water supply for Rabi crops. In such a situation, after the change in weather, farmers are once again facing problems due to failure of Rabi crop.
