Ghaziabad, 7 December (IANS). NCRTC has invited views and applications from the public for developing integrated parking and commercial spaces in the parking lots of RRTS stations on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor.
The objective of this initiative is to enhance parking as well as other passenger centric facilities at RRTS stations for the convenience of passengers and make the travel experience world class. With this, RRTS stations will become a better solution for passengers as well as a center of commercial activity.
Under this initiative, parking spaces can be augmented with a variety of commercial amenities including outlets, food courts, offices, service apartments and studio apartments. These developments aim to create multifunctional hubs that not only meet the immediate needs of passengers, but also provide space for leisure, work and short-term stays, thereby enriching the overall passenger experience and maximizing the utility of station areas. NCRTC has invited expressions of interest for leasing out and developing integrated parking and commercial spaces at six stations strategically located on the RRTS corridor. These stations include DPS Rajnagar Guldhar, Duhai, Muradnagar, Modi Nagar South, Modi Nagar North and Meerut South. The initiative aims to optimize the use of parking areas, enhance passenger convenience and station utility by integrating them with commercial development. Large parking spaces have been prepared at RRTS stations for the convenience of passengers and developers interested in developing these parking spaces for the convenience of passengers can apply with their new developmental ideas by 27 December 2024.

Currently, Namo Bharat train services are operational on a 42 km stretch of the RRTS corridor connecting nine stations from Sahibabad to Meerut South. The entire corridor extends for 82 kilometers, which runs from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to Modipuram in Meerut. In this series, now trial runs are also going on at Anand Vihar and New Ashok Nagar stations in the Delhi section beyond Sahibabad.
