Congress attacks on Dalit’s death in Rajgarh

Rajgarh/Bhopal 6 December (IANS). In Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh, after the death of a Dalit youth allegedly due to beating, a protest was held in front of the police station by keeping the dead body, while Congress has attacked the government for atrocities on Dalits.

Yesterday, a young man named Rahul Verma died in Banapura village of Talen police station area. Family members allege that he was beaten up for not doing his wages and later he died. Regarding this incident, former Union Minister Arun Yadav has attacked the government for the atrocities on Dalits. He has said that after Shivpuri, a Dalit was beaten to death in Rajgarh. In Banapura of Talen police station, Dalit youth Rahul was beaten to death by the bullies of the village. On Thursday night, the family members of the deceased sat on a dharna demanding the dead body to be lodged at the police station, the accused is still absconding.

The family members of deceased Rahul allege that he did not go to work as a daily wage laborer on Tuesday. On this, two bullies of the village beat him up. When Rahul went to the police station to complain about this matter, the complaint was not registered, rather he was beaten up there too. After this he suffered stomach pain and died.

After the death of the youth, the family members demonstrated by keeping the dead body outside the police station demanding registration of a case against the accused. The people of the victim’s family continued protesting till late Thursday night. Police say that both the parties had come to the police station to lodge a complaint. How the youth died will be revealed only after the post mortem report comes.
