Congress has faced defeat everywhere: Rohan Gupta

New Delhi, December 11 (IANS). Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Rohan Gupta on Wednesday cornered the opposition Congress and said that it had to face defeat everywhere.

Regarding the results of Congress in the Lok Sabha elections, Rohan Gupta said, “The way the results of the Lok Sabha elections have come, the Congress has had to face defeat everywhere. Somewhere, Congress does not want to talk on issues which affect the public. The party has become so indulged in appeasement that now even its own alliance is not ready to accept his leadership. I think there should be performance in everything. If any alliance thinks that the person given the responsibility is not able to fulfill it, then every person has the right to question him. When a leadership forms a coalition, it is his responsibility to take everyone along and do justice to them.”

Regarding the ‘India’ block, the BJP leader said, “The ‘India’ block has now disintegrated. It got shattered in the by-elections of Uttar Pradesh. After the results of Jammu and Kashmir, Congress, which had fought in alliance, is no longer in the government. The reality is that the situation has become clear to the entire country. “Congress will have to introspect and question why such situations have arisen.”

He said what does he think about SP leaders giving statements from jail regarding terrorism charges? The country has progressed a lot. Hindu-Muslim politics, appeasement politics is history. The future belongs to every Indian’s politics, where every Indian has equal rights. The politics of appeasement should end now.

Expressing his views on Bangladesh and Rohingya, Rohan Gupta said, “If we talk about Bangladeshis and Rohingya, the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi has given instructions that they should be removed. This is a serious issue. If people get voting rights by wrongly making Aadhaar card and participate in our electoral process, it can be dangerous for the country. This should be implemented across the country that wherever there are infiltrators, they should be removed, so that they do not impact democracy.”

Regarding EVMs, he said, “Now the opposition raises questions on EVMs in elections. After the results are out, as their party loses, EVMs are made the villain. But when the same EVM is used in Jharkhand and his party wins there, then no questions are raised on EVM. This cannot be double standards. There is also a provision of VVPAT along with EVMs, and VVPAT slips are counted at five polling stations in every assembly, so if you still raise questions, it is a symbol of lack of faith in democracy. We should understand that EVM is a provision and the Election Commission has created a strong system in the country.”

Regarding the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi, he said, “The promises made by the Aam Aadmi Party, like security, pollution, and big projects, have all failed. It is easy to blame the central government, but when you were in power, the same issues were there. The people of Delhi have now understood that the Aam Aadmi Party has betrayed them. “Cases of liquor scam, corruption and non-fulfillment of promises made to the public have been exposed.”
