Congress has no respect for the Constitution: Sambit Patra

New Delhi, December 11 (IANS). The ‘India’ block has decided to approach the Supreme Court over alleged tampering with EVMs and VVPAT machines in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. BJP has attacked him regarding this.

BJP’s national spokesperson Sambit Patra said in a press conference on Wednesday that Congress repeatedly goes to the Supreme Court regarding EVMs and comes back defeated. The Election Commission has captured the working of EVM and the entire process on CCTV and put it before everyone through a press conference. Still, Congress is going to the Supreme Court regarding this entire matter. Congress has no respect for the Constitution.

The ‘India’ block has talked about going to the Supreme Court after a meeting of NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar, Supriya Sule, AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal, AAP Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh and senior Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi on Tuesday.

Earlier, a Congress delegation had met Election Commission officials last week and expressed concern over alleged anomalies in the electoral process for the Maharashtra Assembly elections. He also raised the issue of deletion and addition of a large number of names in the voter list.

Congress’ Data Analytics Department Chairman Praveen Chakraborty on Tuesday wrote a letter to Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar seeking the voter list of every assembly constituency in the state in Excel sheet format for the Lok Sabha elections and Maharashtra Assembly elections.
