Khanauri Border (Punjab), 20 December (IANS). Congress MP Deependra Singh Hooda reached Khanauri border on Thursday to meet farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal.
While talking to the media, Deependra Singh Hooda said that we have come here to know the well being of Jagjit Singh Dallewal. We demand the government to give up its arrogance and show humanity. The demands of the farmers are not illegitimate. These are the same demands to which the government had once agreed. When the demands of the farmers were not met, they started the movement. I think the government should come forward to talk to the farmers. 101 farmers wanted to go to Delhi and protest. But the government has stopped the farmers from going to Delhi. In Delhi, every section has the right to protest and the government also allows it, but the farmers are stopped from going. When the farmer sees this, resentment arises in his heart.
On BJP’s allegations, the Congress MP said that the entire country knows which party’s strategy is to lie.
On the statement given by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Baba Saheb Ambedkar, the Congress MP said that the kind of language used in Parliament is not acceptable. It became clear from his statements that if he had not been stopped in the Lok Sabha elections, the work of changing the Constitution would have happened today. We are people who believe in Baba Saheb.
Deepender Singh Hooda posted on social media platform ‘X’. He wrote, “Today, after reaching among the farmers at Khanauri border, met Sardar Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who is fasting unto death for the last 24 days, to know about his health. His condition is very serious. BJP government demands to immediately provide legal guarantee of MSP to the farmers. Talk to Mane and Dallewal and get their fast ended.”
