Congress’s support base is weakening: Neeraj Kumar

Patna, November 22 (IANS). Senior Janata Dal (United) leader Neeraj Kumar spoke to IANS on Friday. He reacted to the statement given by Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi regarding US President Joe Biden during the Maharashtra Assembly elections.

JDU spokesperson has said that Rahul Gandhi often makes such comparisons regarding the internal affairs of the country which raises a question mark on the glorious tradition of the country. We will be in competition with each other in internal politics. But it is not right to compare anyone with anyone. Age is not even being taken into consideration while making the comparison.

He said, “I think that today the situation of Congress has become such that the party which was once a national party is now continuously losing its support as a regional party. Congress is not worried about this. This has become a matter of concern for me.”

Recently elections were held on 288 assembly seats of Maharashtra. The result will also be declared by the Election Commission on Saturday.

During election rallies, Rahul Gandhi had compared Prime Minister Narendra Modi with US President Joe Biden. He had said that Prime Minister Modi was suffering from amnesia.

The National Medicos Association has expressed disappointment over the remarks made by Rahul Gandhi. The association has written a letter to Sonia Gandhi saying that Joe Biden is the President of America. He is elderly, Rahul Gandhi’s comment regarding age related diseases is not appropriate at all and it is also against Indian culture.
