Ranchi, 16 November (IANS). Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, while addressing a public meeting in Khijri, Jharkhand on Saturday, remembering the heroes of the tribal society, said that only those with anti-Constitution thinking see the Red Book of the Constitution as empty.
The Congress President said, “I remember all the heroes like Lord Birsa Munda, Baba Tilka Manjhi, Veer Budhu Bhagat, Sido-Kanhu. These were symbols of tribal identity and culture. Every countryman recognizes their contribution. Their thinking and The great heritage is visible in the Constitution. Those who have not even read it, this is the difference of opinion among those who think against the Constitution. The Constitution appears to be only a red book.”
Attacking the BJP, he said that the Constitution has given the power to vote to the people. All rights have been given by the Constitution. The hope and expectation of the poor, farmers and laborers is hidden in it. In this, the rights of water, forest and land are protected. The Constitution gives power even to those who have nothing.
Mallikarjun Kharge alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party wants to form the government here to loot the water, forests and land of Jharkhand. She neither wants the development of this state nor wants to give their rights to the poor, Dalits and backward people. He appealed to the people to form the ‘India’ block government in Jharkhand with an overwhelming majority and assured to speed up development and save the water, forests and land of the state.
The Congress President said that some people forget that the credit for the right to reservation that SC, ST and OBC got, goes to the leaders like Gandhi, Nehru, Patel, Ambedkar who gave independence to the country and who made the Constitution. If the tribals, backward classes and Dalits have got something in this country, then Congress has fought hard to get them their rights. Whoever raises voice against this government, agencies like ED and CBI are put behind him. Instead of talking about public issues, BJP is busy talking about Hindu-Muslim.
