Jamtara, November 19 (IANS). Controversy has arisen over a video shared by Irfan Ansari, sitting MLA of Jamtara assembly constituency of Jharkhand and Congress candidate. Referring to this video, his rival and BJP candidate Sita Soren has expressed the fear of inappropriate incidents with the women of the area. He has demanded the Election Commission and the District Election Officer of Jamtara to take cognizance of this video.
In the video shared by Congress candidate Irfan Ansari, he is seen saying, ‘Some girls of BJP will create ruckus at night, tear clothes and defame our workers. I have informed the department that the department should keep an eye on this. She will try to defame him by filing a fake case.
BJP candidate Sita Soren, while sharing this video of Irfan Ansari on her social media handle, wrote, ‘Keeping in mind the safety of the residents of Jamtara Assembly, I have to share this message with all of you. It is my humble request to all the residents of Jamtara, especially women, sisters, and daughters, to please remain alert and safe. The things said in this video shared by Irfan are giving rise to the apprehension that he may be planning to take some inappropriate step in the area.
Sita Soren wrote, ‘It seems that he has made an unsuccessful attempt to save himself from any possible controversy by sharing this video. There is an atmosphere of fear in various Santhal villages. The poor sisters and daughters do not have enough means to stay safe, and this situation is worrying me extremely. I request the police administration and the Election Commission to strengthen the security arrangements in the area and ensure the safety of citizens, especially women. He has appealed to the people to be cautious and immediately inform the administration about any suspicious activity.
