Kota News Desk: Local people protested against the garbage point built on Thegada Pulia of Kota city. The corporation’s garbage tipper was stopped from dumping garbage. There was a traffic jam due to garbage tipper standing on the road. The local people were adamant on their demand to call the Corporation Commissioner to the spot. On information, police and corporation officials reached the spot. Consulted with the protesters. Local people demonstrated for about 2 hours. Later the tipper was sent to the trekking ground at Nanta.

Actually, this garbage transfer station has been built between Ward 12 of Kota North Corporation and Ward 16 of South Corporation. Tippers go here dumping garbage. Then from here the waste is shifted to another place through big vehicles. Local people were facing a lot of problems due to the presence of garbage point. Due to breaking of the garbage point wall, all the garbage is spreading on the road.
Waiting for the inauguration of the garbage point
Local people told that this garbage point was closed one and a half years ago. The then Commissioner and Mayor had assured that a new garbage point would be built outside Umaidganj. At that time dumping of wet waste here was stopped. A new garbage point is ready in Umaidganj but has not been started yet waiting for inauguration. Due to this people are getting worried. Officials have not been paying any attention for 2 hours. Health Officer of Kota North Municipal Corporation Tanuj Sharma said that preparations have been made for a new transfer station in Umaidganj. Trials of the machines are pending. Engineers will come in 10-15 days. After which the inauguration process will be carried out and the garbage point will be eliminated from here forever. Probably the garbage transfer station will be shifted from here by the 20th of next month. Now all the tippers have been sent to the trenching ground at Nanta.
