Court sentences 5 years imprisonment to accused of abetting suicide in Kota

Kota : Kota Additional Sessions Court Women Harassment Serial 2 Court has sentenced the accused in the nearly 7 and a half year old case of instigating a schoolgirl to commit suicide. The court has punished the accused Shivnath alias Shiv (25) with 5 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5 thousand. Additional Public Prosecutor Bhupendra Mittal said that the father of the deceased had given a complaint in a police station in the rural district on 27 February 2017. In which he told that his 16 year old daughter had left home at 9 am on February 25 to study coaching. Who did not return. His bag was found on the way to Ahu river. On February 27, the girl’s body was found in the river. A suicide note was found in the daughter’s bag. In which things about love affairs were written. After investigation, the accused was arrested on 1 March 2017. Challan presented against the accused in the court. Statements of 18 witnesses were taken in the court.

2 accused of opium smuggling jailed

The special court NDPS Court has punished two accused of opium smuggling with 5 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000 each. Special Public Prosecutor Mahendra Singh Nirbhay said that on October 12, 2019, GRP Kota detained two persons from the Kota Ganganagar Express train standing at platform number 1 Kota railway station. One new name is Balu Singh and the other is Ishwar Singh, resident of Pipliya Mohammad, Garoth police station, Mandsaur MP. During the search, 500 grams of illegal drug opium was recovered from the possession of both the accused. The prosecution presented 9 witnesses and 49 documents in the case. The court sentenced Balu Singh and Ishwar Singh. Whereas co-accused Meharban Singh was acquitted giving the benefit of doubt.
