Bharatpur : Bharatpur’s Rahul Chahar has been bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 3.20 crore in the IPL-2025 auction. Rahul Chahar is a resident of Vijay Nagar Colony. Rahul is a leg spinner. Apart from his parents, he has brought glory to Bharatpur district. District Cricket Association Secretary Shatrughan Tiwari said that Rahul Chahar was born on 4 August 1999 in Vijay Nagar Colony, Bharatpur, Rajasthan. At the age of 8, Rahul Chahar started playing cricket after watching his cousin Deepak Chahar.
Went to Jaipur for coaching
Shatrughan Tiwari told, “I remember Rahul came to Lohagarh Stadium to learn cricket for the first time at the age of 11 with his uncle Lokendra Chahar and his father Deshraj Chahar. At that time coach Mahendra Singh Bedi said that if he gets proper coaching, Soon after becoming a big cricketer, Rahul Chahar took part in the trials for the Under 14 team at Lohagarh Stadium. He surprised everyone by taking five wickets in the practice match itself.”
Rahul Chahar is a leg spinner
He told that Rahul Chahar is a leg spinner. But, his specialty is that he bowls six balls in one over in googly, flipper, starter, leg spin, straight and simple manner. Rahul’s father shifted to Agra because of his son Rahul Chahar. Because, Rahul’s uncle Lokendra Chahar runs the Cricket Academy there. He is retired from the army, that is why he has a special interest in cricket. His uncle Lokendra Singh Chahar trained him and taught him all the tricks of cricket.
Rahul Chahar played Ranji at the age of 16
At the age of 16, Rahul Chahar made his first-class debut for Rajasthan against Odisha in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy on 5 November 2016. He was the leading wicket-taker for Rajasthan in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy, with 20 wickets in 9 matches.
