Sirohi : 70-year-old Mahant was murdered in Sirohi’s Sadar police station area. Two miscreants entered the Ganesh temple in Krishnaganj on Monday (September 23). Mahant Salem Bharti was attacked with a sharp weapon and killed. When the Mahant shouted, the villagers gathered. The miscreants attacked him. One miscreant was caught. The police reached on information and caught the other one as well.
The miscreants had entered the temple with the intention of looting
According to the police, the miscreants had entered the temple with the intention of looting. They tried to loot the silver bangles worn by the Mahant. They killed him when he resisted. Manaram Dewasi of the village has given a complaint in the matter. People of Hindu organization have demanded action. Manaram, who lives near Ganesh temple, said that Soparam Bhil of Isra has been caught. The second accused Bhaira Bhil has also been caught.
Mahant’s dead body was post-mortemed
Mahant Salem Bharti was seriously injured in the attack by miscreants. Police took the Mahant to Sirohi District Hospital. The doctor declared the priest dead. On Tuesday (September 24), Salem Bharti’s body was handed over to the villagers after conducting a post-mortem.
A special team has been formed for the investigation
According to the police, there were injury marks on the priest’s body. A special team has been formed for investigation. Both the accused have been taken into custody and are being questioned. Further action will be taken after the interrogation. The villagers suspect that the miscreants have killed the priest with the intention of looting the silver bracelet from his hand. According to the villagers, Salag Bharti had been serving in the Ganesh temple for about 30 years. He used to live in the temple itself.
