Criminals are fearless in the capital, they ran over an old man with a car, causing a sensation among the people

Jaipur : An old man had to pay a heavy price for intervening in a fight between some people in Jaipur. A young man involved in the fight dragged the old businessman for 15 feet with his car and then ran over him and fled from there. After this incident, angry businessmen protested fiercely in Jhotwara area, police also used mild force to disperse them. According to the police- Banwari Kumawat (60) was a resident of Deep Nagar Jhotwara. He used to set up a fruit and vegetable shop at Dadi Ka Phatak for 30 years. He was sitting at his shop at around 9:30 pm on Friday night. Three-four boys got into a fight outside the paan shop in front. Seeing the fight, Banwari Kumawat came to intervene. Banwari Kumawat was explaining to the boys who were fighting. Meanwhile, a boy sat in the car and started running away. While driving away, the youth in the car hit Banwari Kumawat who came in front. After dragging Banwari Kumawat for about 15 feet, the car driver ran over him and fled. The local people admitted him to the hospital in a critical condition. During treatment, the doctors declared Banwari Kumawat dead. The police, who arrived on the medical report, kept the body in the mortuary for postmortem.

Angry traders blocked the road

Traders angry over the incident closed their shops at Dadi Ka Phatak on Saturday morning. Traders sat on a dharna expressing their anger over the incident. The relatives of the deceased started creating a ruckus demanding compensation. Jhotwara police station reached the spot on information. Police officers tried to calm the situation by persuading. Even after an hour of persuasion, traders and local people did not agree and the road was closed by placing vehicles and barricades on the main road at Dadi Ka Phatak. Seeing such a demonstration at around 9 in the morning, the police used mild force and drove the people away from there. After about 10 minutes of effort, the traffic jam was cleared.

Ward number-9 councilor Kishan Lal Ajmera said- the boys who came in the Innova had a fight over something at the paan shop. The fighting boys were drunk. Banwari Lal Kumawat saw the fight and went to intervene. The boys in the Innova ran over Banwari Lal Kumawat and left. We demanded the administration to give proper compensation to the family. Strictest action should be taken against the accused. Gulab Saini, who was involved in the protest, said- the police should investigate whether this was an intentional murder or an accident. The family should get justice along with financial help. All the people gathered and placed this demand in front of the administration.
