Crisis on employment of 15 lakh people of Rajasthan, 23 thousand mines may be closed

Jaipur : Regarding the closure of 23 thousand mines of the state after 2 days due to non-availability of environmental no-objection certificate in Rajasthan and the threat to the employment of about 15 lakh people, Law Minister Jogaram has now said that the government will not provide employment to even a single person. Will not let the crisis come. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma himself is serious about this. Even if SLP has to be filed in the Supreme Court, we will present Rajasthan’s side effectively. Will take services of good lawyers.

Law Minister Jogaram Patel accused the previous Congress government and said that due to not taking timely action, about 23 thousand mines approved by the District Environment Impact Assessment Authority (DIA) are in trouble. As soon as our government came to power, after applying to the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEA), 11553 Form-2 were uploaded on the Parivartan portal. In view of the large number of cases and revaluation work of lease and quarry licensees, in addition to the already established two State Expert Appraisal Committees (SEC), separate SECs were established in Jodhpur and Udaipur by notification on June 11, 2024. This speeded up the work.

Don’t worry about employment

On the statement of Leader of Opposition Tikaram Julie about snatching away the employment of the people, Jogaram said that they should not worry about employment. The order of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) to give state level approvals to the mines which have got approvals from the district level is not after the coming of our government. These orders were issued in December-2022 itself. But even after the NGT order, the previous government neither worried about the 23 thousand mines nor about the future of the 15 lakh workers getting employment from them.
