A case of cyber fraud has been registered against an advocate in Dausa : Lalsot. Hackers hacked the mobile phone of the victim advocate and withdrew Rs 96 thousand from his credit limit. As soon as the victim’s advocate came to know about this, he registered a case in the police station. Advocate Alok Chaudhary, resident of Tobacco Pada of Lalsot city, while giving report in the police station, said that my mobile number is linked to Amazon account. In which I was given a credit limit of Rs 10,000 through Amazon Pay Letter 1 year ago. Since then I have not used the Amazon credit limit. Amazon and Amazon Pay Later have not been used for about eight months and I myself am not aware of it nor was my consent taken.
Credit limit of Amazon Pay Later was increased from Rs 10000 to Rs 1 lakh. He told that on November 14, two transactions were done from my Amazon Pay Letter. I did not receive any OTP, email or text message. The first transaction was an electricity bill of Rs 21733 which was in the name of a woman from Chhattisgarh. The second transaction was of Rs 75776. In this way, in both the transactions, about Rs 96 thousand were deducted from the Amazon credit account. I came to know about this when I received an email asking me to deposit the money for Amazon credit limit. A case has been registered in this regard at Lalsot police station.
