Cyber thugs become weak due to Dholpur anti virus dose

Dholpur : Dholpur Mewat area has been quite infamous for some time as a hub of cyber thugs in North India. Mewat has also left behind the criminals who are expert in cyber fraud like Jamtara of Jharkhand. To crack down on these cyber gangs which defraud people of their hard earned money in the blink of an eye, the police started Operation Anti Virus. Bharatpur Range IG Rahul Prakash took command of the operation. In the operation, an all-out attack on cyber thugs was carried out strategically. The effect of this was that the gangs of cyber thugs who were currently operating from Deeg district of the range have fled the area. This can be gauged from the fact that in the last 10 months, 304 cases have been registered against cyber fraudsters in the range. Of these, 246 are in Deeg district alone. Along with the arrests, action has also been taken against the illegal encroachment of many cyber thugs and construction works have been demolished. This has created a stir among the thugs. Due to which the thugs escaped to Haryana and Delhi. In the last ten months, 1064 cyber thugs have been arrested in the range.

59 lakh rupees taken out from the circle of thugs

Till now only minor action was taken against cyber thugs. But the defrauded amount could not be recovered from the people. But in Operation Anti Virus, along with registering a case against the swindlers and arresting them, the amount has also been withdrawn from these swindlers. However, the swindlers have defrauded people of crores of rupees. But under the operation, the police has seized an amount of Rs 59 lakh from the gangs at different levels from January to October 2024.

Phones worth Rs 2.5 thousand seized: Under Operation Anti Virus, the police has seized 2527 SIM cards from cyber thugs from January to October. Apart from this, 1755 mobile phones, 447 ATM cards, 10 micro ATMs, 12 swap machines, 93 two-wheelers, 44 four-wheelers, 12 laptops, 3 tablets, 6 computers, 110 bank passbooks, 145 check books, one cash counting machine, 9 weapons were seized. During the seizure and action, 9 unauthorized encroachments on land by cyber thugs were removed.

From theft of vehicles to cyber fraud

Mewat area of Haryana adjoining Alwar and Deeg districts of the state has been infamous for criminal incidents since the beginning. Earlier, the miscreants of Mewat used to steal vehicles and in NCR, their name was regularly mentioned in vehicle theft. A village in Deeg even got the name Chorgarhi. After committing Sati, he changed the pattern of crime and started cheating people through fake gold bricks. In this he cheated hundreds of people by trapping them. Due to continuous incidents of fake bricks and police becoming alert, they gradually gave up this and started tampering with ATMs and uprooting them. But due to the high risk of getting caught, these criminals started committing cyber frauds. Due to not being caught by the police and not having any kind of identity, they started committing cyber fraud across the country.
