Cylinders had expired four years ago, family raised demand for DNA test

Jhansi, 16 November (IANS). The fire that broke out in the NICU ward at Maharani Lakshmibai Medical College in Jhansi took the lives of 10 newborns. After this accident, great negligence of the hospital has come to light.

Some pictures have surfaced which point towards the negligence of the medical college administration. It is seen that the fire extinguishers present in the medical college had expired. These expired in 2020 and 2023 and were not even refilled by the hospital.

At the same time, the family suffering from the death of 10 newborns is in distress. There is a demand to get DNA test done. They allege that when the fire broke out, the staff should have evacuated the children.

Father Kuldeep, who was searching for his child, said that he himself had saved four to five children after the fire. However, I cannot find my own child. My mother and wife are in bad condition after crying since Friday night. My entire family is very upset after the accident and till now no one has told whether the child will be found or not. A doctor is abusing that let him die.

A woman, Maya, said that since the fire in the hospital, there has been no trace of our child either. After this incident, he is not being allowed to go to the hospital. My daughter’s baby was admitted to the hospital and was kept in a machine. Information about the fire incident came to light when people started making noise. After this, people broke the window and took out the children, our child has not been found yet.

A person named Ankit told that his younger brother’s son was admitted in the hospital. He was about 7 months old. We were told in the announcement that our child has died. Our demand is that DNA tests should be conducted.

Another woman has raised questions on the hospital regarding this incident. He said that he has not been allowed inside the hospital since the accident. Our child is still missing and no information has been given about her.

According to the information, till now the death of 10 newborns has been confirmed in the massive fire of the Medical College and about 45 have been saved.
