Jaipur : A case of wrong blood group transfusion to a child has come to light in JK Lone Hospital. After the matter came to light, the hospital administration immediately formed an investigation committee and said that the child’s life is not in danger right now. According to the case, Mustafa (10 years), resident of Kaman, Bharatpur, was admitted to JK Lone Hospital on December 4 when his health deteriorated. In case of kidney problem and need of blood, family members were asked to bring blood. When the blood group was tested, it was found to be O-positive. Blood was given to the family on 5 December.
But it was AB positive instead of O-positive. The family members took this blood back to the staff and here this blood (AB positive) was given to Mustafa. When blood was needed again on 7th December, the family members were given a slip to bring blood. When the family members came to take blood, it came to light that the child had already been tested AB positive. Now the committee formed under the chairmanship of Senior Professor Dr. Kapil Garg includes Dr. RN Sehra, Dr. KK Yadav and blood bank in-charge Dr. Shantipriya Bhardwaj. The committee will present the report in four days
