New Delhi, November 23 (IANS). A 28-year-old constable, who was out on night patrol in Govindpuri area of south-east Delhi, was stabbed to death by three people. The incident took place at 4 am on Saturday.
After getting information about the incident, top police officers reached the spot and took possession of the dead body and sent it for postmortem.
Apart from the local police, all the teams of the Crime Branch and the Special Cell of Delhi Police have also been deployed to arrest the accused.
The police checked all the CCTVs installed around the incident site and identified the accused through it. In this connection, an attacker was arrested in a police encounter on Saturday. He has been identified as Deepak Max (20). Police say that first all the accused will be arrested and the matter will be revealed only after interrogation.

The deceased constable was a native of Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh. His family consists of mother, an elder brother and sister-in-law. He was recruited as a constable in Delhi Police in 2018. Earlier he was posted at Kishangarh police station and in March this year he was posted at Govindpuri police station.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sanjay Sain said that Constable Pal posted at Govindpuri police station was on patrol in the early hours. He stopped three people riding on a scooter. The constable snatched the keys of the scooter and interrogated all three. There was an argument between them on this, after which one of the accused took out a knife and stabbed him twice and all three fled from the spot. The injured policeman was taken to Majeediya Hospital, but he died on the way.
