New Delhi, November 17 (IANS). Hazy conditions persist in Delhi-NCR, and the air quality index (AQI) remained in the ‘severe’ category in most areas on Sunday.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s overall AQI at 7:30 am stood at 428, which falls in the ‘severe’ category.
Most of CPCB’s 35 monitoring stations recorded AQI above 400, indicating ‘severe’ conditions.
As per CPCB measures, an AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, between 51 and 100 ‘satisfactory’, between 101 and 200 ‘moderate’, between 201 and 300 ‘poor’, between 301 and 400 ‘satisfactory’. ‘Very poor’, between 401 and 450 as severe and above 450 as severe plus It is believed.
The air pollution level in Delhi-NCR cities Faridabad was 268, Gurugram 287, Ghaziabad 379, Greater Noida 342 and Noida 304.

Delhi’s air quality had also fallen to ‘severe’ category on Saturday.
Delhi’s air quality is deteriorating since October. The main reasons for this are cold weather, slow blowing of wind, firecrackers, stubble burning and pollution caused by vehicles. Stubble burning in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan also affects Delhi.
In view of the increasing pollution, the Air Quality Management Commission on Friday implemented Phase 3 of the Graded Response Action Plan. These steps have been taken to reduce the increasing levels of pollution.
