Demand for hanging of rape accused, Chairperson of Women’s Commission furious over this shameful incident of Jodhpur

Jodhpur : Jodhpur is being shamed by the incidents of rape of women and girls in the Sun City of Rajasthan for the last three-four days. Regarding this, State Women Commission President Rehana Riyaz Chishti reached Jodhpur on Friday. She talked about giving death penalty to the accused in the recent rape case of a minor. Women Commission President Chishti held a meeting with the administrative officials regarding this matter in the circuit house of the district and heard the problems of the victim women. She also gave instructions to the hospital superintendent in this matter. And said to improve the system and gave instructions to repair the CCTV cameras installed in the hospital. Also, gave instructions to submit a report regarding the matter within a month.

Jodhpur incident is very regrettable- Rehana Riaz

Regarding the investigation being done on the matter, Rehana Riyaz Chishti said that as soon as a rape case comes to the notice of the Women’s Commission, immediate action is taken on it. But we are more concerned about those cases which do not reach the police and the Women’s Commission. In some places, rape cases are even more gruesome, hearing which makes the soul tremble. At the same time, there are some cases whose victims suppress them due to society. In some cases, the accused blackmail the victim and threaten her not to file a report of the case. Such cases should definitely come to light. Recently, 3-4 incidents of rape have happened continuously in Jodhpur for a few days, which is very regrettable. Such incidents shame humanity. No society will tolerate such things.

No punishment less than death penalty- Rehana Riaz

Rehana Riyaz Chishti said that the media plays an active role in these cases, it gives information about many rape cases. As soon as the Women’s Commission gets information about these cases, action is taken on it. Action is also taken on the cases coming on social media. We make people aware that if any such incident has happened with them, then they must bring it forward. She said that it is very important to take immediate action against the accused in serious cases like rape. It is important to expedite the process of punishment in the court. The victim should get justice soon by hearing these cases in the fast court track. The accused should not be punished less than death. At the same time, in the meeting held at the Circuit House of Jodhpur, Collector Gaurav Agarwal, DCP East Alok Srivastava along with the Women’s Commission Chairperson and rural and urban administrative officers of the district were present.
