Churu : Farmers of Churu Sardarshahar subdivision area are not getting good prices for groundnut and moong produce in the market this time, due to which they are worried. In view of this crisis, farmers have placed their only hope from the procurement center running on support price (MSP). On Friday, under the banner of All India Kisan Sabha, farmers protested outside the SDM office and submitted a memorandum regarding their problems. In this demonstration held under the leadership of State General Secretary of Kisan Sabha Chhaganlal Chaudhary, farmers raised many demands. Farmer leader Ramkishan Chhimpa said that at present only two to five farmers’ moong and groundnuts are being weighed every day at the procurement center running in the market. Whereas more than 5 thousand farmers have expressed their desire to sell their produce online at MSP.
Tehsil President of Kisan Sabha Bhagwan Ram Jakhar said that if 100-100 tokens are not weighed every day at the procurement center, then the goods of the farmers will not be sold on time. Therefore there is a need to increase the capacity of the procurement centre. He warned that if this problem is not resolved soon then agitation will be carried out. SDM Divya Chaudhary listened seriously to the problems of the farmers and assured to increase the speed of weighing at support price. On this occasion, many members of Kisan Sabha, like Tehsil President Bhagwanram Jakhar, Hazariram Saran, Kumaram, Nanduram and Ramkrishna Chhimpa and other workers were also present.
