Sirohi : Former Zilla Parishad member Babulal Meena has written a letter to Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, demanding to stop the culvert construction work on Sukdi river in Shri Gautam Rishi Mahadev Temple area and to recover the amount spent so far. In the letter, Meena said that Shri Gautam Rishi Temple, the worshipable deity of the society, is situated near Sukdi River in village Chotila. A three-day fair is organized at this place every year on Mahashivratri and 13 to 15 April. The then Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had announced construction of culvert etc. on Sukdi River in Shri Gautam Rishi Mahadev Temple area on Mahashivratri on 18 February 2023. Administrative and financial approval of Rs 20 crore for road construction was issued on 21 March 2023. On this, the Public Works Department, Sirohi and the then Interim Management Committee, Shri Gautam Rishi Trust, Meena Samaj, Eleven Parganas, Sirohi, Jalore, Pali, got the construction work done by culvert construction work to connect Shri Gautam Rishi Mahadev Temple and construction of submersible culvert on Chotila river near Bhagli. But construction work is being done by making proposals for two construction works.
He said that the culvert construction work is not being carried out on the correct path in the revenue records. A part of the site where the construction work is being carried out, a span of the culvert connecting the Gautam Rishi Mahadev temple, the wall and the approach road falls within the forest department limits. For which no competent level clearance was taken from the Forest Department. The estimate for this work has been made by the then interim management committee and Public Works Department Sirohi without the knowledge of Forest Department, Sirohi. He demanded action against the culprits by stopping the construction work done by the executive agency Public Works Department and the then interim management committee that made the proposal by making a proposal against the rules and recovering the amount spent so far.
