Demonstration of farmers on not getting claim of Bundi PM Crop Insurance Scheme 2023

Bundi : Farmers of Bundi district gathered at the Circuit House and demonstrated against the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme of the district. For not receiving the full claim of the scheme, a memorandum was submitted to the District Collector against the insurance company Kshema General Insurance. In this, a demand was made to register a case against the company. Farmers said that the situation is so bad that the complaints of 40 thousand farmers were rejected. In such a situation, the company should be blacklisted and strict action should be taken against the officials.

Before submitting the memorandum, farmers from across the district gathered at the Circuit House under the leadership of BJP State Vice President Motilal Meena. The farmers informed the State Vice President about the irregularities being done by the insurance company with the farmers in the district. The insurance company deliberately did not compensate the farmers of Bundi for their crop losses due to excessive rainfall. The farmers reached the Collectorate raising slogans and informed the administration. BJP leader Bharat Sharma said that the hard work of farmers will not be allowed to go waste. The farmers will be given their rights after discussing this with the Chief Minister. Farmers say that 70,000 farmers had informed the company on toll free number about their crops getting damaged and demanded a survey. Company representatives, in collusion with Patwari and Gram Sevak, rejected 40,000 complaints. Not only this, they were not even surveyed. Even those farmers whose survey has been conducted by the company have not yet been compensated by the company. The vendor from Bundi district appointed by the survey company was also not paid his wages by the company. Due to this, the survey forms of about 13,000 farmers are still lying with the survey vendor. Surveys of about 30,000 farmers were conducted. Even among those who were considered eligible for the claim, the company paid the claim only to half the farmers. Half the farmers are wandering for payment.

Farmers said – Hearing is not happening anywhere, take action. In the memorandum given to the District Collector, it was said that in the session 2023, Rs 104 crore was deducted directly from the KCC account by the company as premium from the farmers. Whereas, only Rs 8 crore was paid to the farmers and the company officials did it. Since last year, representatives of the insurance company are forced to run from pillar to post to the agricultural officers. But the company officials are not listening to him in any way. The farmers had also met Minister in-charge Hiralal Nagar and demanded action against the company. The farmers’ delegation has also asked Rajasthan Agriculture Minister Dr. Kirori Lal Meena to take action against the company.
