Demonstrations in all ISKCON against atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh, demand for government intervention

Mathura, December 1 (IANS). In neighboring Bangladesh, huge anger is being seen against the atrocities on Hindu minorities and the arrest of the biggest face of Hindu society, Chinmay Das and his supporters. To express their displeasure, kirtans were performed in ISKCON temples across the country including Mathura on Sunday.

Kirtans were performed in ISKCON temples across the country on Sunday expressing anger against Bangladesh. ISKCON devotees also performed kirtan in front of God in Chandrodaya temple of Vrindavan. People protested against the arrest of ISKCON devotee in Bangladesh by chanting kirtan and demanded intervention from the central government. Along with this, he also demanded action from the Government of Bangladesh in this matter. ISKCON devotees say that Hindus are being continuously targeted while Hindus worship peacefully.

Mathura ISKCON priest told IANS, “This program should have been organized earlier in ISKCON regarding the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. We request Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene in this matter. Regarding the Bangladesh issue There is a need to take to the streets in ISKCON, but they understand the language of fear until Sanatani takes to the streets in India and the whole world. The Indian government is taking action, but it is not happening as it should.”

Another priest said that the religious freedom of Hindu brothers and sisters is being snatched away in Bangladesh, against which kirtans were organized in all ISKCON. Wherever people of Hindu community live, they should react to this.

Bhubaneswar ISKCON Vice President Tukaram Das said, everyone knows, the situation in Bangladesh is very tense and religious minorities there are in danger. We are offering peaceful prayers for peace and calm down the situation in all ISKCON temples across the world. For peace and prosperity to prevail, we are chanting ‘Hare Ram Hare Krishna’ and nursing prayers so that God intervenes to maintain peace.

Bengaluru ISKCON President Madhu Pandit Dasa said, “Our only concern in Bangladesh is the safety of minorities, Hindus and especially ISKCON devotees. Ultimately we want the Indian government to make all efforts to bring peace and this is our prayer to the Bangladesh government. We also want to stop attacks on minorities and ensure their safety from fundamentalists.”
