Kota : A case of death of an 18 year old girl due to dengue has come to light in Kota. Divya, a resident of Premnagar Yojana, Kota, died during treatment at MBS Hospital. Along with continuous fever, Divya’s platelet count was also falling. However, the medical department has not confirmed the death due to dengue, before this a nursing student had died on September 25.
The condition had worsened after fever
Father Raghuraj Mehra, resident of Prem Nagar Affordable Scheme, told that Divya had fever. After this he was admitted to Kota Medical College Hospital, from there one day he was shifted to MBS Hospital. Divya’s condition was continuously deteriorating. After the report of dengue, his platelet count was also declining. Only about 50,000 platelets were left. The father told that other people in the house were also suffering from fever. Divya’s elder brother also had fever. But, when Divya’s condition worsened, she was taken to the hospital. The daughter died during treatment within three days.
Father was looking for a relationship for marriage
Divya studied till tenth standard, after which she left studies. He told that he was going to find a match for her and marry her. But, before that the daughter left. Both father and brother of deceased Divya work as laborers in DCM area.
Divya was affected by dengue
Medical Unit Incharge Dr. Shyam Bihari said that Divya’s condition was continuously deteriorating. Symptoms of dengue were visible, treatment was being done accordingly, his blood pressure was coming down continuously, in such a situation the patient also feels unconscious. There are fibers on the body. With Divya’s condition continuously worsening, a situation of multi-organ failure had developed. He was also shifted to ICU. But, he died during treatment.
2 deaths due to dengue so far
The number of dengue positive patients is continuously increasing in Kota. So far, about 280 dengue positive patients have been reported. Earlier on September 25, Kota Nursing College student Nazia had died of dengue. At present the Health Department has not confirmed Divya’s death due to dengue. This will be confirmed after the death order report comes. But, Divya’s dengue report was positive and she was being treated for dengue.
