Haridwar, November 18 (IANS). Haridwar city remained covered with dense fog since Monday morning. Visibility on the city roads became so low that drivers had to drive with headlights on. Due to fog, school children, parents and working people had to face a lot of trouble. But, the special thing was that no one stopped their work. Despite the fog, people overcame all difficulties and continued with their daily routine.
Due to fog, the speed of vehicles slowed down on Haridwar-Dehradun Highway and other roads of the city. Long queues of vehicles were also seen at some places. Due to increasing cold in the weather, people going to work in the morning and school children were seen shivering. Local people say that the cold has been increasing continuously for the past few days. But, today dense fog made the situation more difficult. At the same time, the effect of fog and cold was also visible in the markets, where people reached late.
According to the Meteorological Department, the fog is likely to continue for the next few days. The department has advised drivers to drive slowly and be careful. Along with this, people have also been instructed to avoid leaving the house early in the morning. Normal life is being affected in Haridwar due to fog and cold. The administration has advised people to remain alert and wear warm clothes.
Local resident Dinesh said, “It has been very cold for the last two days. Fog is visible everywhere. There is no sign of the sun. Because of this, we are facing a lot of difficulty in doing our daily and important work. Children are also facing difficulty in going to school. Hopefully the sun will be visible after a few days.
