Jaipur : Rajasthan Deputy CM and Transport and Road Safety Minister Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa has prepared a 10-year plan for road safety in Rajasthan. He said that Rajasthan is the first state in the country where an action plan is being prepared for the next 10 years for road safety in a planned manner. Under this, work will be done towards making the common people aware of the provisions of road safety and bringing behavioral changes in following road safety rules. Prem Chand Bairwa said about the road safety plan that its target is to reduce road accidents by about 50 percent in the state by 2030.
Instructions given to PWD and Health Department for road safety
Deputy CM Dr Premchand Bairwa was presiding over a meeting on the state road safety policy and action plan at the Transport Headquarters on Wednesday (July 3). The Deputy Chief Minister observed the presentation on the state road safety strategy and action plan prepared by Additional Transport Commissioner Nidhi Singh for the next ten years. He directed all the stakeholder departments including PWD, Transport, Police, Medical and Health, Forest Department to work together in harmony for road safety.
Plan is being prepared with the help of World Bank
The Deputy Chief Minister said that with the help of the World Bank, the State Road Safety Policy and Action Plan is being prepared to reduce road accidents by incorporating the best practices being adopted for road safety in various countries. This action plan will be implemented in three phases in which the first phase will be conducted from 2025 to 2027, the second phase from 2027 to 2030, and the third phase from 2030 to 2033. After which this action plan will be reviewed. It is noteworthy that this action plan being prepared by the Road Safety Cell of the Transport Department is a part of the 100-day action plan of the government. All preparations have been completed for its implementation.
