Chittorgarh : Deputy SP’s Gunner Siyaram shot woman constable Poonam in front of the police station in Begun, Chittorgarh. After this he shot himself. This incident happened just 200 meters away from Begun police station. On information, Deputy SP and Begun police station officer reached the spot. Both of them were taken to Begun Hospital, from where when their condition became serious, they were referred to Chittorgarh. Both of them had not even been in the police department for two years. Both of them were posted in Begun about 17 months ago. Poonam is a resident of Dausa and Siyaram is a resident of Bundi. Poonam is posted in Begun police station. Siyaram was the gunman of Deputy SP Begun Anjali Singh.
Both lived in a rented room in the same house
Both of them lived on rent in separate rooms in a house about 200 meters away from Begun police station. After first treatment at Begun Hospital, both were referred to the district hospital. The condition of both is said to be serious. Both of them were brought to the district hospital from Begun by ambulance. On information, a large number of police forces including District Superintendent of Police Sudhir Joshi, ASP Sarita Singh reached the hospital.
The condition of both remains critical
The condition of both of them is critical due to bullet injuries. Both have been referred from Chittorgarh to Udaipur, where both are undergoing treatment. Why did constable Siyaram shoot himself after shooting the female constable? These reasons have not been revealed yet. Constable Siyaram and lady constable Poonam both are on probation.
Poonam was present in the anti-encroachment squad
On Monday evening, action was being taken to remove encroachment in Thukarai Panchayat. Poonam was also present in Japte during the removal of encroachment. Other policemen present in the squad told the media that Poonam did not appear upset while removing the encroachment. No one had any information about Poonam and Siyaram. Poonam had taken a room on rent in front of the police station. As soon as she reached home at 7 pm, Siyaram was already present in her room.
