Even today, after the destruction of many old structures and the construction of many new structures, this fort of Amer Fort stands proudly facing many obstacles.

Jaleb Chowk, one of the main courtyards of Amer Fort, tells you the story of bravery of Rajput martial arts. The verandahs around the huge courtyard were the resting places for elephant teams and soldiers. The latticework of the Amer Fort roof with intricate geometric shapes (jharokas) helped in keeping an eye on the enemies. Standing at Jaleb Chowk, imagine how war cries once echoed here, swords clashed and songs of bravery were sung.
