This stone was cleaned to find the image of Maa Shila Devi and thus the temple of Shila Devi was built here. Even today devotees have deep faith in this temple. Talking about timing, the light and sound show organized at Amer Fort is organized daily between 6:30 pm to 9:15 pm. Jaleb Chowk, one of the main courtyards of Amer Fort, tells you the story of bravery of Rajput martial arts. The verandahs around the huge courtyard were the resting places for elephant teams and soldiers. The latticework of the Amer Fort roof with intricate geometric shapes (jharokas) helped in keeping an eye on the enemies. Standing at Jaleb Chowk, imagine how war cries once echoed here, swords clashed and songs of bravery were sung.
