Tonk : Counting of votes for the by-election on Deoli-Uniara seat of Rajasthan is going on at the Government Post Graduate College from 8 am. The results are expected by 1 pm. 8 candidates are trying their luck on this seat. Everyone’s eyes are fixed on this seat which came into discussion after the slapping incident. With the election results, the fate of the independent candidate Naresh Meena who slapped the SDM will also be decided. The reputation of both BJP and Congress parties is at stake in the assembly by-elections. Congress, which has won the assembly elections twice, hopes to save its stronghold. At the same time, BJP is waiting to stop Congress from getting a hat-trick. The results of the by-election will be out by 1 pm and with this it will be decided who will become the new MLA of Deoli-Uniara?
Both parties put full effort
Congress and BJP had used their full strength to win this seat. BJP organized public meetings of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma twice. Two government ministers and several MLAs had been camping in the area continuously. Whereas Congress had organized election meetings of former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, former Deputy CM Sachin Pilot, State President Govind Singh Dotasara.

Harish Meena, who was elected MLA from the seat for the second time, was fielded by Congress as its candidate in the last Lok Sabha elections. In this he defeated Sukhbir Singh Jaunapuriya of BJP. After this, Meena vacated the seat by resigning from the post of MLA, due to which by-election voting was held on November 13.
