Dholpur child helpline team stopped child marriage at 3 places

Dholpur : On the occasion of Devuthani Ekadashi, a continuous campaign was being run by the district administration and police to stop child marriage. Due to which, on Tuesday, Child Helpline received information about child marriage taking place at three places. On receiving the information, the Child Helpline team reached the spot and stopped the child marriage. Child Helpline Coordinator Harvendra Sharma said that on the occasion of Devuthani Ekadashi, there is a lot of celebration of Abujh Saavs. On this, Child Helpline received complaints of child marriage taking place at three places through various mediums.

Taking immediate action on these, child marriages were stopped by taking action in coordination with various departments and concerned police stations. He told that the marriage of two sisters was taking place in Sarmathura police station area. During investigation, both the sisters were found to be minors. On which the marriage was stopped. The second information was received in Kanchanpur police station area. Where two sisters were getting married. Out of which one sister was a minor and both the grooms were also found to be minor. The marriage was stopped and the police was informed.

Child Helpline Coordinator said that information about third child marriage was received in Sone Ka Gurja police station area. In which the family members have come from Madhya Pradesh to their relatives’ place for the marriage. Where the marriage was stopped when the bride was found to be a minor. He told that during the action, Tehsildar Badi, Rajkheda and Sarmathura, Dihauli police station, Rajkheda police station, Sone Ka Gurja police station and supervisor Deeksha Sain, Nisha Kushwaha, case worker Aman Rawat, Prashant Gautam from Child Helpline were present.
