Dholpur council meeting inundated with allegations and counter-allegations, created ruckus

Dholpur : the special meeting of the city council called on the demand of Dholpur councilors ended without any concrete result under tight security and in the presence of the collector. The main issues in the meeting were the cleanliness of the city, water leaking from clogged chambers and electricity. The councilors created a ruckus, accusing the officials including the Municipal Commissioner of not doing any work. The special meeting started with the uproar by the councilor representatives. The main thing of the meeting was that Collector Srinidhi Beatty led the meeting. The Collector himself listened to the problems of the councilors and was also giving answers to them. The Municipal Commissioner remained silent most of the time. In the meeting, Leader of Opposition Kukku Sharma first put him in the dock by accusing the Municipal Commissioner of cleanliness, absence of garbage bins and other development works in the city. On which the council said that soon the cleaning contract of 38 wards of the city will be given. And the cleanliness system of the city will be strengthened. But the councilor did not stop here, he slammed the Commissioner, accusing him of not doing any work and filling his own pockets. The councilors said that when we call the commissioner for work, he never picks up the phone, leave alone getting our work done, he does not even talk to us.

Bharti Sharma scolded the Chairman

In the meeting, Ward 12 councilor Bharti Sharma strongly attacked Chairman Khushubu Singh, accusing him of not doing any work and said that your work is just to sit in homes. You never listened to our problems. He said that only your pockets should be filled, even if people keep dying. The councilors said that you have even switched off the CCTV cameras in the office. On which the Chairman said that you are making baseless allegations. You never bring problems.

…Deputy Chairman also felt pain

In the meeting, when the councilors accused Commissioner Ashok Sharma, Chairman Khushboo Singh and Deputy Chairman Maya Sharma of not getting the development work done, the pain of the Deputy Chairman also came out in front of everyone. Deputy Chairman Maya Sharma stopped the councilors and said that despite being the Deputy Chairman, no work is being done in my ward. My ward is also not untouched by the problem of cleanliness and chamber. I too have no hearing in the council. No one is insisting on improving the cleanliness system.

District Collector reprimanded regarding lights

The councilors said that the city council has not yet strengthened the lighting system in the city. Due to which there is darkness in many wards. Even after complaining many times, new lights are not being provided nor are the old lights being repaired. On which the Municipal Commissioner said that new lights were not being supplied. When the Collector heard about new lights not being provided for more than a year even after the tender in 2023, he scolded the officials and said that defaulters were not given work. And asked to get the lights repaired soon.
