Dholpur devotees are cleaning the Machkund at their own expense.

Dholpur : Dholpur: Due to lack of cleaning of Tirthrath Machkund, which is becoming a victim of the autocracy of the responsible officials, the historical place is getting drenched in rot and filth. Despite the complaint, the city council did not even bother to get the cleaning done. Harkar devotees and the Mahant of the temple together are getting the cleaning work done at their own expense. Due to lack of proper cleaning of Teerthraj Machkund after Chhath Mela, there is filth everywhere including the ghats. The water has become foul as well as contaminated. Devotees are hesitant to even come to the lake, let alone take a bath in it. Regarding this, the Mahant and the devotees made several written complaints to the Municipal Council and requested for cleanliness, but as per its working style, the Council did the same thing which it has been doing. Due to which the filth increased further. After which the Mahant of the temple and the devotees together collected money and got the cleaning work done from their own pocket money.

Cleaning work for three days:

Mahant Krishnadat told that along with the devotees, the dirt scattered on the pond and ghats is being cleaned. This work has been going on for the last three days. Along with the dirt spread in the pond, moss is also being removed. And the remains of waterlogged Kalangi, Mohri etc. are also being collected and thrown out of the premises. And the water of the pond is being cleaned. So that the devotees and tourists coming here do not face any problem.
